By studying the trainings produced by the installation of the territorial farm contracts (CTE, Contrat Territorial d’Exploitation) then the sustainable agricultural contracts (CAD, Contrat d’Agriculture Durable) in the Reunion Island, we proved how they encouraged the first steps of a sustainable agriculture. Our work is based on discussions with the actors of rural development, particularly extension technicians of the organizations of development. We establish that the trainings were numerous as well at the individual level as collective, between advisers and farmers and advisers of different organisms, and that they got different nature, organisational, social as well relational).
