摘要:The Bug and Styr basin forms 100 km long and 30 km wide depression which becomes nar-rower towards East (10 km). From West and South the basin is surrounded by Roztocze and Podole Uplands (390 and 450 m a.s.l., respectively). The floor of the basin is formed by sands of 2-5 m thickness.
On the sandy plains of the Bug basin dunes developed in three parallel belts. The northern belt developed on a sandy plain alongside the Rata valley. In this belt the 6 km - wide and 40 km - long dunes is formed in a row of parallel parabolic dunes spaced every 1-3 km. As the extension of this belt on the Bug terrace, between Dobrotwór and Parchacz, a large cluster of parabolic dunes developed. The biggest ones have 5 km long arms. The W-E arm and front of the dune rises to 20 m and NW-SE arm to 10 m.
In the Styr basin dunes is formed on several sandy plaine. A large dunes complex between Styr and Słonówka rivers developed on the terrace closed from East side by the ridge of the Leszniew humps. Dunes from there a series of stretches every few kilometers. The sandy plains between Bug and Styr river were an alimentation area for the dune development.
Dunes of the Bug and Styr basin, like those of the Sandomierz basin, developed on the southern foreland of the belt of the Central Europe Uplands.
