  • 摘要:The Bug river basin, situated in the borderland between Ukraine, Byelorussia and Poland, covers the area of 39,420.2 km2. It is a meridionally stretched area which is part of several physiographic and geological regions, which is manifested in the conditions of water occurrence and circulation. The springs of the river are situated at the northern edge of the Podole Region. In the upper course, the river drains the western part of the Volhynia Upland and the Pobuże Basin, as well as the edge zones of Roztocze and Podole adjacent to it in the south. In the middle course, it flows across the western part of the Polesie Region, and in the lower course - across the southern stretch of Podlasie. Between 1951-2000, the modulus of flow in the Bug basin amounted to 153.7 m3/s. The value of the mean multi-annual specific runoff equalled 3.93 l·km2/s , while the annual runoff index was 124 mm. The share of underground feeding in the total runoff, calculated on the basis of an analysis of monthly flow minima, amounted to 104.6 m3/s in the studied period, which corresponds to 68% of the total runoff. Mean annual discharges of the Bug in Wyszków fluctuated between 65.4 m3/s to 335 m3/s. This is a relatively low annual flow variability, only slightly higher than the one in the rivers of the Lublin and the Volhynia Uplands, which are steadily fed from groundwater resources. Specific runoff in the upper and middle courses of the Bug decreases with the increment of catchment, and in the lower course - slightly increases. The runoff regime can be defined as moderate, with ground-rain-snow feeding. Average precipitation volume in the Bug basin amounts to approximately 570 mm. Evapotranspiration accounts for 450 mm and the runoff - for about 120 mm of the amount. The volume of water resources, as expressed by mean runoff index, ranges from 200-220 mm in the Roztocze and Podole part, to 95-100 mm in the middle Bug Valley area - at the northern edge of the Volhynia Upland and in Polesie. Groundwaters dominate in the river runoff, which secures the stability of the runoff, particularly in the upland part of the basin.
