摘要：The article deals with problems of housing construction in rural areas of the Lublin voivodship in the period of intensive socio-economic transformation after the year 1988. The main aim of the work is to estimate dependences between new housing construction and housing condition of rural population. The article also concerns development and territorial differences in housing construction.
The paper is based on the data published in the statistical publications as well as information gathered by survey. The analysis of the collected materials allows to draw the following conclusions as to the modern housing construction. Firstly, it can be stated that the rate of changes of the construction is much higher in the rural gminas in suburban areas than in typically agriculture areas. Contrary to houses in rural areas, dwellings in suburban areas are equipped with essential technical infrastructure, e.g. network gas and waterworks. Considering standards of new dwellings, they are of much better quality than the ones built before the period of transformation.
The research proves that difficulties concerning housing construction in typically rural areas are becoming more intense. The most pressing problem is a very small number of dwellings completed. According to the survey carried out in selected gminas, the main factors that improve housing conditions of rural population are modernization and reconditioning.
