摘要：Geographic Information Systems (GIS) have an important role in Public Health because it offers the possibility to carry out spatial and temporal analysis of diverse indicators that influence in human health. Dengue is a disease with rapid dissemination constituting a growing health issue. For this reason it was designed and implemented an Integrated Surveillance System, based on a GIS, for the prevention of Dengue at local level. This work was carried out at blocks level, facilitating the stratification of a group of environmental, entomological and epidemiologic indicators that propitiate the appearance of Dengue at Cotorro´s municipality. The results of the work allowed an integral analysis of all the indicators, to establish spatial-temporal comparisons and to stratify risk for blocks, helping decision takers to identify the most vulnerable regions for transmission of Dengue.
