摘要:In the globalizing world, the international organizations in educational field just like in other fields are gradually increasing. The most meaningful of all the organizations is the European Union Educational Programs. In the context of these programs, it is aimed that the quality of education is improved; the differences between the educational systems and the application of these systems are aptly identified; the cross-cultural aspect of education is strengthened; cultural variety is provided; learning of foreign language is supported; and last but not least, growth of country is contributed. The European Union Educational Programs named after the philosophers Socrates and Erasmus help the formation and improvement of respect, tolerance and sympathy by granting the socialization among young people that come from various cultural backgrounds via dialogues. Without doubt, in the environments where ethnicity, language, religion and sexual discriminations do not exist, the education that is given to these young people in the frame of respect to the civil rights is critically significant in the formation of peace culture in individuals. The aim of this study is to evaluate the contribution of the students to their own lives in terms of the formation and development of universal culture, by means of determining both the positive and the negative ideas of the Erciyes University Educational Faculty students, who spent a few semesters abroad thanks to the international student exchange programs, concerning the social and cultural atmosphere in the countries they went. In this study qualitative research method is used. Inputs and data are reached by applying semi-structured interview technique. Interviews are carried out with the students who went to European Union countries in the topics of language, food culture, accommodation, transportation, free time activities, class mates and their interactions with the instructors. The analysis of the data is based on the content analysis that is one of the qualitative research tecniques.Finally this study emphasizes that Erasmus Program that brings some socio- cultural reciprocal influence in personal development of those participants who are all teacher candidates in selfconfidence improvement, the skill of overcoming troubles, more feeling of responsibility, being more optimist for the future, dulling of prejudges, conciousness about self culture, direction to open mind in dialogues amoung religions and cultures. And this program also contributes the participant regarding their own professional skills in confidence of teaching, being aware of other/ different educational systems, improvement of a foreign language to be more efficient in communication.
