摘要:In his article, “Circulation Service and
Public Relations,” Harry Bauer recounts
this story in a July 1957 issue of Library Trends: “An old-time vaudeville
comedian used to tell an amusing story of how he once went to a library to
take out a book, but took out one of the circulation assistants instead. One
can assume that the library assistant was charming and adroit in developing
good public relations. Of course, she had a perfect right to be alluring, but
no librarian has the right to be more alluring than a book.”
