摘要:This paper reports the colorimetric analysis of a color recording of the Cuauhquechollan canvas, starting with spectrophotometric measures, in order to evaluate the possible impact of cleaning on a cultural asset of such nature.
Forty points were selected on the canvas surface, with the most representative and homogeneously textured colors in the measuring area. Colorimetric measures were obtained taken with a CM2600d Minolta® contact spectrophotometer before and after cleaning.
The results provided interesting information about the changes in the canvas colors and the nature of the cleaned-out matter. At the same time they delivered numerical data, which identify the canvas in terms of its most representative colors.
The changes observed in the colors were not dramatic. An increase in clarity and darkening in similar ratios was recorded. The perception of the resulting tones indicates a moderate but significant tendency toward blue tones, which matches the original palette of the canvas’s chromatic manufacture.
