摘要:This hysteriad narrates Sigmund Freud’s vacillations before the Urszene. In this scene, the soil
on which hysteria and other neuroses take root, the father molests his daughter. First Freud
judged it to be true, and then he came to believe that it was the fantastic invention of a girl lost
in the oedipal labyrinth. In this crossing over from the Seduction Theory to the Drive Theory
one can see the role played by the ghost of Freud’s father, “one of those perverts”, the “formed”
memory of a scene in which he and his cousin John “deflowered” John’s little sister Pauline,
and a dream where he loved his daughter Mathilde too fondly.
The impossibility of telling (of knowing) what goes on between a father and his daughter can be
seen both in the Delgadina ballad and in the Grimm’s tale of Allerleriauh, where one can read,
or, rather, hear, the daughter’s version, and in the stories of Myrrha and Lot, which tell the
father’s, and in the two opposite variations of the fable of Nyctimene, and especially in Lear’s
and Cordelia’s difficulties to say aloud their love for each other.
