The Pergamum network: history, evolution and perspectives
[English] Purpose of this report is to recover and record the history of creation of the Pergamum Network and its growth. But to talk about the network, it is necessary to refer to the system Pergamum, as it was through him that the network was formed and is the basis of its development. The Pergamum Network was created in 1999, initially with 13 institutions of higher learning and with the main purpose of sharing services and resources. With time, the number of institutions in the network was increased and diversified. In the year of 2000 there were 36 institutions, in 2001 (47), in 2002 (58), in 2003 (97) in 2004-2005 (106), in 2006 (159), in 2007 (180) and in 2008 (216). The participants in the network included private and public higher learning institutions, courts of law, elementary and high schools, businesses, NGOs, regional councils, among others. The 216 institutions in the network are users and partners which believe in the work being developed by the PUCPR and help in consolidating even more the Pergamum Network in the national scenario by expanding information services and products with quality.
