摘要:In this paper, we will discuss some aspects of Portuguese language in-service training with special attention to the teaching of reading skills. Firstly, we shall go on a brief tour along the pathways the school has chosen to follow in respect to the teaching of reading skills, in order to examine how in-service training has taken place and how this formation feeds and view that conceives reading not as a practice reduced to school but as a social practice, and analyze the consequences that such a concept of the reading as a social practice may bring to teaching. Finally, we will discuss how in-service training can help teachers to build this new reading perspective.
