摘要:The main focus of this paper is the recontextualization of the competencies concept in the curricular proposal for the formation of Basic Education teachers, generated by the Brazilian Educational Reform. We analyze based on the critical curricular theories. We conclude that the Brazilian curricular proposal upon introducing competencies as a “new” paradigm, recontextualizes this concept already used in other times and places, fulfilling the objectives of professional formation, where the preparation of the citizen educator is closely linked to the world of job. In this recontextualization process we may note the presence of traditional theories, at first rated as contradictory, mainly the “cognitive and behavioral” psychology adding ambivalently to the composition of the "pedagogical pallete" developed by Bernstein. Therefore the concept of competencies at the same time maintains curricular traditions from the past and recreates new senses to the use of the concept in the curriculum adjusted to modern times.
