  • 摘要:This paper is part of the activities developed in the Research Project COTESC. One of the purposes of this project was to study the interactions between Institutions of Higher Teaching (IHT) and Schools of Basic Education (SBE), in order to attain parameter propositions to create flexible mechanisms, however stable and consistent, to carry out the Pre-service Teaching (PT). In this paper, we studied how PT has been organized and developed in schools so as to understand the responsibilities which have been attributed as IHT as SBE in the Pre-service Teaching realization, from the point of view of pre-services teachers from Teacher Education Courses of UFSM, through questionnaires, and of major/pedagogical coordinators/supervisors from SBE of Santa Maria/RS, through interviews. A remarkable diversity has been found in relation to how pre-service teachers’ practices are orientated, accompanied and evaluated. This diversity is associated to the lack of a systematic and institutional interaction between IHT and SBE, as well as the lack of definitions about IHT’s and SBE’s roles in pre-service teaching organization and development is taken as one of the main reasons for delays in institutionalized interactive consolidation actions between these institutions, as far as Teacher Initial Education is concerned.
