摘要:This paper refers to a kind of electronic media, Orkut (virtual web virtually constructed) and, in particular, the discussion centers (communities) promoted by this web and chosen for showing teachers and school on a “negative” way. The study tries to contribute to both the Education and the new technologies field. The analysis is made through twelve Orkut communities, observing the registers written by the students about their teachers and the education on a general way. It aims at proposing the educators that they do some thinking – upon this information – about how to operate with the circulating material on this kind of media, which represents the language of the new generations. The paper is directed to the light of Cultural Studies, a field of study that considers culture as central and constituent, emphasizing education as a complex and including cultural phenomenon. It has been proven that the resources offered by technology and the way it is institutionalized are becoming one more tool or technique that tends to enlarge the abyss between teachers and students. For the discussion, an interlocution was created between the different conceptions that form on the contemporary studies involving media, culture, teaching and new technologies subjects.
