There is little research and few educational practices in the field of environmental education (EE) that contribute to creating a dynamic of peace. Generally, educational researchers, popular and community education organizations, the formal education
milieu and the general public neglect the relationship between environmental problems and the emergence of conflicts, with the exception of a fewnon-governmental organizations. The declining quality of living environments and the appearance or exacerbation of wars are interdependent and closely linked, as are the protection of the environment and the creation of a dynamic of peace. With this inmind, we wonder if this issue should be part of EE research and practice. Environmental education can contribute to teaching people and communities how share an environment, notably through real community projects on problem solving and eco-development. This article presents two intervention examples: A water and environment cooperation project between neighbouring communities involved in a political conflict, and a
collective gardening project uniting groups that were previously at war with each other. These projects contribute to consolidating peace and societal innovation.
