摘要:This report analyzes the Naledi Education Centre (NEC) both as an individual institution and as a microcosm of education and development in Botswana . To this end, the report begins with an overview of the NEC’s history and operations, including the objectives of the organization as they relate to Botswana ’s Millennium Development Goals. The second section describes the contemporary challenges facing the NEC, including funding and resource capacity, language barriers, and socio-economic conditions, as well as the possible measures which might be taken to address them. Finally, we relate these organization-specific challenges to the broader picture of education and development in Botswana . Here we find that many of the institution-specific issues of the NEC may be generalized to highlight both challenges and opportunities in meeting the objectives of the Millennium Development Goals.
