摘要:This article is a fi rst proposal on the methodology for the diagnosis of the state of
conservation of cultural resources. This stage is fundamental for the subsequent elaboration of
any management plan that involves introducing changes in the usage conditions this process
has traditionally had, especially when external pressures or infl uences have motivated these
changes.
A holistic perspective of the heritage status is given by relating previously established
variables, in coordination with related additional information. Emphasis is placed on the
dialogical relation between the many views and interests associated with the perception and
uses of cultural heritage, going beyond the idea of a heritage with universal values, and placing
material productions and their state of conservation in specifi c socio-cultural, territorial and
temporary contexts.
From this perspective, it is possible to systematically include the values attributed
by different human groups in the diagnosis to determine the real impact the material state
has on the total valorization of the resources. It proposes ways of intervening in the resource
state in order to conserve and foster positive values, control or eliminate the negative ones and
reduce to a minimum all measures that may lead to disputes among the valorization agents.
Hence, the interventions are aimed at conserving those attributes that allow the aforementioned
values to be expressed.
