摘要：The main purpose of this paper is to gain an overview of developments in growth theory. Swinging between
orthodox and heterodox theories it has been remarked that these theoretical itineraries, seemingly
divergent, become somehow convergent. The general strategy of formulating an interdisciplinary analysis
scheme more appropriate to real economic evolution represents the key of understanding this scientific
trend. In this insight, the mainstream theory of economic growth is nothing more then a selective
synthesis; choices between competing orthodox and heterodox theories having been done on the basis of
inherent plausibility and consistency with realities.
