摘要:ccording to several studies made over the past five years,
psychological harassment at work has become one of the most frequent
psychosocial-rooted alterations at the workplace. Furthermore, Dieter
Zapf (1999) has succeeded in identifying interpersonal style in handling
conflicts as one of the variables contributing to its appearance.
Objectives: 1) To estimate the prevalence of mobbing of office and
service employees. 2) To establish whether interpersonal styles in
handling conflicts aimed at cooperation have a protective effect against
mobbing, or against styles aimed at dominance represent a risk factor.
Results: A 10.3 percent prevalence was recorded for psychological
harassment, 6.86 percent for office workers and 3.44 for service
employees. As for the search for an association between interpersonal
style of handling conflicts and psychological harassment, a statistically
significant association was found between the approach towards
dominance (dominating and avoiding styles) and other styles
(integrating, obliging, compromising and combined [without including
any combination of the dominating and avoiding styles]) with an Odds
Ratio value = 2.27, and a value of p = 0.0373. A significant direct
association was also found between dominance styles (dominating and
avoiding) and the please style, with X_ = 5.50 (including the Yates
correction), and a value of p = 0.0190 and OR = 4.13.
