摘要：Three types of agent to etching teeth were tested to verify which presents better performance in the visualization in SEM of the apatite crystals - mineral deposited in the skeleton of the vertebrates, including teeth - that compose the dental enameloid tissue: EDTA, hydrochloric acid, and phosphoric acid. The best solution was through the immersion of the teeth in phosphoric acid 15% from 4 to 15 seconds, depending on the size of the teeth. After decalcification the teeth were submitted to the protocol commonly used in preparing the piece for observation in SEM.
