摘要:I
n many respects, Cameroon has for some time set the
benchmark for central African nations when it comes to
sustainably managing the forests of the Congo basin,
home to the world’s second largest area of tropical forest. A
Ministry of Environment and Forests (minef) was created
in 1992 - now known as the Ministry of Forests and Wildlife
(minfof) - and policy documents and forest laws soon followed.
Of particular note was the 1994 forest law 94-01, aimed at
ensuring the sustainable management of forests, wildlife,
and fisheries.
