This paper aims to present a brief history on the experience of the Brazilian Agricultural Research - Embrapa in Communication, in close harmony with the political, social and economic in Brazil. This is a trajectory that begins in 1973, when the creation of the Company was induced by the military government, aiming at increasing agricultural production in the country, and reaches the present day, with the process of re Brazil and the insertion of Embrapa in the globalized world. This context is affecting the concepts and practices of communication of the Company, ranging from the diffusion in the first decades of its existence, through the creation of its communication policy in the 1990s until the present time, which requires of a Embrapa glocal communication, ie the same time global and local level, supported by a system of organizational intelligence.
