This paper aims to present the program Tonomundo, developed by the School of the Future Research Laboratory at University of São Paulo and funded by telecommunication company OiTelemar, represented by Oi Futuro. It describes the virtual learning community designed by the project to reverse the rates of digital divide in the north and northeast brazilian schools and analyzes a section dedicated to collaborative and interactive activities. On an ethnographic methodological approach exposes the results of a research study with students and teachers about the habits and the colaborative behaviour of the actors and the participatory potential of these virtual communities.
