摘要：Alongthestoryofjuvenilejustice,probationhasbeenacommonfeatureamongst
the open)institutionalmeasures onwhich the Juvenile Judge has relied on; basically
becauseintheory,itseducationalcontentsandtheadvisoryroleoftheprobationofficer
allowsforabetteradjustmentofthelegalinterventiontotheyouth’scircumstancesand
evolution.Inthepresentstudywereporttheresultsofanempiricalresearchconducted
simultaneouslyinthreeSpanishprovinces,namelyZaragoza,MalagaandToledo.The
overallobjectiveof the studywas tograsp indetailhowparole isapplied inorder to
betterunderstandhowitsettlesinpractice.Oneoftheprincipalaimsofthisstudyisto
analyze if theadoptionofprobation succeeds in individualizing the responsegiven to
juvenileoffenders, that is, to thepsycho)socialcircumstances (at the time the juvenile
commits thecrime)and to theevolution towhich the juvenile issubjected throughout
the enforcement process.The results of this investigation suggest that in spite of the
alleged special responses to juvenile offenders –which in principle should take into
account the particular circumstances of the juveniles )),we observe the existence of
certainhomogeneityconditionsabouttheinterventions.
