Impunity is one of the great social problems, even more in Venezuela, where the reivindication of participation mechanisms proscribed from public life is searched. Particularly the crime of illicit enrichment, included in the Anticorruption Law, is one of the criminal types most strongly rejected by society, since it affects people’s contributions towards the benefit of public services. However, the aspirations for justice cannot lead the law or the institutions in carge of determining responsibilty to violate the fundamental rights of the accused. It is essential to respect due process nand the principle of innocence, avoiding thus the entering of other scourges into the social vision.
