This short article considers homiletic practice in its interrelation with the phenomenon of the means of mass communication, particularly television. In the opinion of the author, on the one hand, television programming found a strong inspiration in religious homiletic practice, but, on the other hand, the current experience of preaching in churches seeks in the means of communication its
modus operandi (method), its modus faciendi (technique) and its own modus vivendi (style of life).
