摘要:A bird inventory was conducted through systematic and sporadic observations between October 2002 and October 2004 in the campus of the Universidad del Quindío , located in the city of Armenia at the western slope of the Cordillera Central of the Colombian Andes. The birds were categorized based on dietary habits, habitat use, relative abundance, and migratory status using qualitative descriptions. A total richness of 128 birds species was found in the campus, including several new and accidental records for the western slope of the Cordillera Central . The effects of urbanization on the conservation of vegetation patches, second growth and its importance for birds are also discussed.
