摘要：The aims of this study were: to compare the experiences of victimization and aggression in school settings with those occurring in leisure settings, outside the school, in two different regions of Portugal; to compare the frequencies and types of victimization and aggression displayed in one of the schools in the year 2000/2001 with those displayed in the year 2007/2008; to understand the role that emotions play in the conditions of being an aggressor, or a victim, in adolescence. We use a self-report to assess aggression and victimization and an emotional skills and competence questionnaire to assess emotions, specifically: competence to manage and regulate emotions, to express and label emotions, and to perceive and understand emotions. The results obtained emphasize: that victimization and aggression were more frequent at school than in leisure, specially the less severe forms; and that victims have lack of competence to manage emotions but the emotional competence of aggressors don’t seem to be different from those adolescents non involved, so more studies are necessary to explore this topic considering that educational emotion at schools has becoming a popular topic and matter of concern.
