The Birds have a significant cultural value in the Colombian Caribbean coast; there are many cultural and artistic expressions to some bird species in the regional music and literature. The same situation its present in the pottery of the precolumbian ethnics who lived in this region. I present here (a collection) several (of) birds cited in Gabriel Garcia Márquez books, with special emphasis in El amor en los tiempos del cólera. I discuss here the possible identification of these birds and some environment historical changes in this region.
