标题:The Views of Students and Education Staff about Social Activities Intended for Students Who Receive Education in Rural Areas and Evaluation of the Students in Terms of Self-Esteem
摘要:ABSTRACT. The purpose of this research is to assess the 2008-2009 academic year implementation of social activities,
which is developed for students enrolled in the primary schools that are located in rural areas, taking into account the
conceptions of the students and the teachers as well as the self esteem of the students. The research is a descriptive action
research that establishes the conditions present in the survey model as they are. A total of 842 students with 333 females and
509 males have participated in the activities to represent their schools in various branches. Examined in general, it is regarded
significant that students have expressed that they have been considerably satisfied with these activities; however, they have
felt sorry for losing. Teachers generally find the social activities of the students constructive for their education; however, it
is also observed that they think social activities negatively affect the teaching. A significant difference is observed in the self
esteem levels of the students for the benefit of those who have participated in the social activities with respect to the others
who have not participated. The social activity which is the subject of this research can be implemented in schools located in
rural residential areas.
