摘要:ABSTRACT. This research has been conducted to examine the influence of inquiry-based learning approach on
students’ attitudes towards course in 7th grade social studies course in Primary School. The research group was
selected among seventh grade classes in Lalahan and Yaşar Doğu Primary Schools in Elmadağ District of
Ankara during the education year of 2006-2007. There were 60 students in the research group. “Attitude Scale
Toward Social Studies” and “Interview Form” were used as data collection instruments. This research showed
that inquiry-based learning approach has more positive effects when it is compared to traditional learning
approaches on improving the attitudes toward course of the students.
