摘要：This article aims to bring to the public the work of recent archaeological surveys
carried out on the left bank of the Tagus in Porto do Sabugueiro, Salvaterra de Magos. This
project, approved by IGESPAR, arose as a result of the fortuitous detection of important archae-
ological remains discovered on the carrying out farm work. We are facing an area with great
potential and archaeological heritage and of the results of surveys with a broad diachronic occu-
pation, which extends, even with gaps, from Neolithic to Late Antiquity. The most significant
data relate to the occupation from the Iron Age. While we are dealing with information col-
lected from the surface, the volume of material collected and its analysis enable us to assume the
area as the place of an ancient river port.
