  • 摘要:The authors investigate teacher education in relation to reading and midiatic culture beginning with studies conducted at a state university located in Northern Paraná, Brazil, focusing on Language Arts and Education courses. Part of these investigations was expanded taking as reference an equivalent course of teachers training in Basic Education at an university in the region of central part of Portugal. These studies showed that a reading approach was perceived as unsatisfactory by the students and curriculum proposals a long way off from the current demands in language, as well. The theoretical framework is based on the field of Reading and Reader Training, Cultural Studies and Curriculum. In this context, the researchers propose to discuss the teacher education process aiming to provide skills to these professionals Reading in conjunction with the language of contemporary young reader.
