摘要:In an exploratory and non-exhaustive manner, the paper covers a relevant part of the anthropological literature produced on the xokleng - a Je speaking group who lives on the upper valley of Itajai, in Santa Catarina, Brazil. It focuses on the works of greater scope and emphasizes continuities and analytical ruptures in these works, covering a period from the 1930s until the first decade of this century. It aims at looking in a critical manner to the assumptions underlying the models used by these researches and pointing to other possible approaches.
