摘要:French universities integrate Information and Communication Technologies into their activities for several years. Numerical working environments are progressively set up to allow the different actors to accomplish collaborative work, distance learning and to access remote resources. These environments will take an increasing importance in the daily life of the students. Current students are often qualified of “digital natives” to underline that it is the first generation to have grown with numerical technologies and to use them every day since their birth.
This paper aims to determine in which way the arrival of these new students in universities could have an influence on the process of integration of numerical working environments. We will first define the notions of “digital natives” and “digital immigrants”. We will then study the profiles of the current students to determine if we can qualify them as “digital natives” or if some are more “digital immigrants”. Official statistics will illustrate our point.
