For this study, we developed two practices that sought to change undergraduates' perception of art, and to facilitate their artistic expression. Specifically, we organized an art exhibition at Komaba Museum, which demonstrated the process of artistic creation, and we also conducted a workshop so that participants were able to experience the artistic process. We investigated the effects of these practices using questionnaire surveys. The results reveal that the exhibition showing the artistic creative process was effective in changing undergraduates' perception of art, but was less effective in motivating them to participate in creative activity. However, by participating in both practices, even students who had hitherto given a wide berth to art became motivated to engage in artistic activities.
