摘要:During 2003, we recorded ~ 20000 seabirds in Gorgona National Park. The Blue-footed Booby (Sula nebouxii) was the
most abundant species with nearly 13000 individuals, followed by the Brown Pelican (Pelecanus occidentalis) with more
than 5000 and the Frigatebird (Fregata magnificens) with more than 3000. The less abundant species was the Brown
Booby (Sula leucogaster) with 300 individuals. Between February and August, 800-1000 pairs of Brown Pelicans bred on
the Gorgonilla islet. An estimated 100 pairs of the Brown Booby nested on some rocks north of Gorgona Island, the rocky
cliffs on the northern side of Gorgonilla, and on adjacent rocks. They bred throughout the year with a peak between July
and September. Neither the Blue-footed Booby nor the Frigatebird bred in Gorgona during the study.
