摘要:The coup of 30th September in Ecuador, which saw a police uprising and the President detained for hours, has led to an interesting debate: was it a simple police mutiny triggered by pay issues, that was disorganized and without leadership? Or was it a coup d’état aimed at deposing Rafael Correa and neutralizing the «citizen’s revolution» process? The article analyzes the events in detail, the role of the different actors and their interests, and plants some background themes, which help to better understand the situation, such as the police unrest, Correa’s style of management, and the lack of connection between the Executive and a large part of the social organizations.
