摘要:Knowledge organization systems (KOS), such as classification systems, gazetteers, ontologies, taxonomies and thesauri, are crucial to semantic interoperability [1,2]. Controlled vocabularies reduce ambiguity by defining the scope of terms and possibly providing synonyms. More complex KOS organize concepts via different types of semantic relationship. This semantic organization also affords a mechanism (for both human and machine) to connect different choices of terminology and different representations and structures of information.
