摘要：HIVE (Helping Interdisciplinary Vocabulary Engineering) [1, 2] is both a model and a system that supports automatic metadata generation by drawing descriptors from multiple Simple Knowledge Organization System (SKOS)-encoded controlled vocabularies. This Bulletin article introduces the HIVE initiative. Project goals, plans and system design are presented. The conclusion highlights next steps.
