When asked to think about their practice, some teachers (subjects in the research project Teacher's subjectivity in times of decline of the master's discourse, at the Faculty of Education UFMG during the years 2007 to 2009) made associations with both what we call "mothering", as with aspects related to the gender of those involved. In order to analyze these findings, we deemed necessary to bring together approaches from both psychoanalysis and some Education's theorists since what seems at stake is the "feminization of teaching" as well as its domesticity. Such issues ultimately lead to some political damage to both the consolidation of an epistemological corpus able to give an account of the impossible act of teaching as to the actual teaching practice.
