摘要:The objective of this paper is to analyse the evolution of job insecurity in Spain for the
period 1987-2003 using the files from the Labour Force Survey (EPA) as a rotating
panel and as a series of cross-sections. For that purpose, we use several indicators,
according to previous studies in the international literature. Moreover, a discrete time
proportional hazard model with competing risks of exits is estimated. Results suggest
that there has been a widespread rise of job insecurity during that period of time, in
spite of certain reduction since the end of the 1990s.The increase of job insecurity
has affected most to women, workers with temporary contracts, workers in blue-
collar occupations (mainly in low-skilled occupations) and workers in certain industries
such as agriculture and building.
