摘要:The majority of available research about portuguese teaching does not have teachers as the main focus for reflection and analyses. Knowing about the relationship between the quality of teachers and students’ scholary results, and keeping in mind students’ levels of illiteracy, we defend research of “the good portuguese teacher”, which contributes to an epistemiological board of reference. This is certainly a difficult task, particularly because of interpretations that social agents keep drawing, and it is not expected to find clear goals. Therefore, we look for conceptual approaches through the rationalisation of social representations. Social representations are processes of social cognition, therefore, allow us to (re)identify the roles that social agents perform when they are interacting.
