A new personality test(TSPS) to reveal the "two-sidedness of personality" was constructed by Mori(1983). In the first scale(FIG.1), one may check both sides of antonym independently. All items were selected to have positive meaning(P). The purpose of this study was to revise TSPS by including negative items(N)to allow a wider study of "two-sidedness", and to examine the tendency of subject's over-stressing desirable traits. It was designed in order that each corresponding "P" items and "N" items had the same meaning and had the difference only in the desirability of the items. 713 students serving as subjects were asked to rate revised TSPS. The result showed that:(1)The figure of "two-sided" person had the difference between "P" and "N". "Two-sided" person in "N" showed a tendency of introversion more than in "P". (2)Two types of "self acceptant" person: High-S_+(P)and Low-S_+(N)were differentiated. LowS_+(N)was adaptable, but not positively. (3)S(P-N)and S_+(N)had the relation to L, K scale(MMPI). In conclusion, the significance of "N" aspect of revised TSPS was ascertained.
