摘要：Science, technology and innovation in any area of knowledge and at global scale demand superior attention for its strategic relevance. In Brazil, the small scientific community of cartographic and geodetic sciences introduces itself, contributes and communicates among pairs the results of its work through the two most important vehicles in this area: The Boletim de Ciências Geodésicas (BCG) and the Revista Brasileira de Cartografia (RBC). Both made the selected articles available in the internet. Aiming at to expand the level of understanding related to the scientific community that works in this field of knowledge this article presents the main institutions that affiliate the authors that reveal their scientific and technologic production in both journals. By the analysis of the data (titles, authors, institutions and their cities, and the keywords) of all on line published articles the institutions’ remarkable features are presented. The results confirm that public universities, followed by research institutes, account for the largest number of published articles. By the other hand, there is a large number of only one insert. Given the importance of this subject and a few drawbacks to organize the data, the adoption of a procedure to orient the authors and referees is reiterated in order to systematize the data acquisition and classification. Finally, a suggestion for mutual cooperation between both periodicals is done for increasing the impact of the geodetic-cartographic communications. Concerning to the smaller institutions, may them be stimulated to experience the development of CTI.
