摘要：Abstract
The upper Patía valley is a dry geographical area with some sub-xerophytic sectors located in an isolated formation in the
southernmost portion of the Cauca-Patía inter-Andean valley. The avifauna of this valley has been well studied and
documented until the last decade of the XX century. However, in the last eight years we got noteworthy bird records from
this valley in the departments of Cauca and Nariño, Colombia. We present annotations of eight species previously
recorded and of 28 new species reports. These notes provide useful information about the biogeography and ecology of
bird species living in the arid valleys of southwestern Colombia
