摘要：Former prisoners are at high risk of poverty because of the challenges they face in becoming reconnected to society by finding employment or accessing public assistance.1 These challenges are the result of the stigma of incarceration, as well as the disadvantages that often characterize this population, including low levels of education, mental health problems, and substance abuse.2 Few prisoners leave prison with jobs or other necessary resources already secured.3
