摘要：Visual speech information plays an important role in lip-reading under noisy conditions or for listeners with a hearing impairment. This paper reports a review of the technology and development used in Lip Reading to appreciate and findings the growth of technology for the basic energy minimizing model, automatic speech recognition and some aspects of intelligent technology i-e Artificial Neural Network. It presents the hierarchical development of technology. The different image-based and model-based Lip-Reading techniques are detailed typically deployed for this task. A fragment comparison is made on the few feature extraction methods.
