The executive functioning is a concept that applies neuropsychological cognitive activities responsible for planning and execution of tasks, including mental flexibility. Such cognitive processes are produced daily, for a number of problems are part of human life. Thus, regardless of the degree complexity of the problem, the subject must be able to analyze the situation, devise strategies, and anticipate the consequences of their decision. This study aimed to evaluate executive functioning through the Nelson´s modified card sorting test, which has been one of the main aim is the examination of executive functions. To this were recruited 15 subjects with ages ranging between 30 to 44 years and 5 to 8 years of schooling, verifying that performance was as expected in test, for most individuals in this sample, as regards the comparison of age and education.
