This paper presents some psychoanalytic ideas about group relations established in the context of institutions, and intends to contribute to a deeper understanding of these aspects in order to exploit the work in this area. The study is based on the assumption that the institution, even if understood as a heterogeneous field considering the traditional psychoanalysis, is a device capable of showing the effects of the unconscious, making possible a study or analysis with psychoanalytic inspiration. This study is based upon the professional practice of the authors, and also, brings a scratch of a master research conducted by the authors addressing the issue of groups in institutions.
